Not only are the pistes and lifts almost on your doorstep. Sports shops, supermarkets, restaurants, the tourist office, the post office and a doctor's surgery are also just a few steps away.

Obergurgl is easy to reach by car from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Gurgl can be reached via the A12 motorway and later via the regionalB186 road. The motorways in Austria are subject to tolls. Toll stickers are available at petrol stations, post offices, tobacconists and from automobile clubs. Toll-free travel is possible via Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Imst. Please note – the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road is closed in winter, and the pass to and from Italy is only open from May to October.
At Hotel Madeleine there are plenty of parking spaces available at the front of the hotel. Garage spaces can be rented subject to availability for an extra charge of €15.00 per day.
The nearest railway station is Ötztal-Bahnhof. This stop is served by the international long-distance train Railjet along the Zurich-Vienna/Vienna-Zurich route, among others. From Ötztal-Bahnhof there’s a bus to Hotel Madeleine taking approximately 90 minutes; or the Ötztal Shuttle (approx. 50 mins. journey time) - and taxis are also an option (approx. 50 mins. journey time).
The nearest airport is Innsbruck Airport (100 kilometres). The international airports of Munich (250 kilometres) and Zurich (300 kilometres) are also suitable for journeys to Obergurgl. There are several ways to get from the airport to the hotel using public transport, such as trains and buses, or by booking a taxi or a seat on the Ötztal Shuttle.
