Sustainability at Hotel Madeleine
Sustainability plays a major role at the Hotel Madeleine. For this reason, not only was attention paid to the use of environmentally friendly building materials during construction or renovation, but also the daily processes contribute to the protection of nature. This ranges from the energy supply (district heating) and waste separation to the charging stations for electric cars. During the 2013 renovation, a thermal refurbishment was already carried out (complete insulation and replacement of all windows and doors), which saves the environment 112 t of CO2 emissions annually. Further sustainable projects are also planned for the future, such as certification as a "Green Hotel".
History of the 4-star Hotel Madeleine
1984 Opening
On December 1, 1984, Michael Gstrein's parents welcome the first guests to the Hotel Madeleine. The hotel, at that time still called "Hotel Romantik", sets new standards in architecture. The construction phase lasts about 1.5 years.
1987 Name change
Since the winter of 1987/1988, the hotel has borne the present name "Hotel Madeleine".
1993 Change of generations
In 1993 Michael Gstrein takes over the 4-star hotel.
2003 Renovation of the dining room & ski cellar
The dining room, the hotel bar and the ski cellar are completely renovated.
2008 Renovation Wellness & Bathroom
Reconstruction and renovation of the wellness area and new construction of the panoramic relaxation room. In the course of this, all bathrooms in the hotel are also completely renovated.
2013 Renovation rooms
The rooms of the categories Ramolkogl, Spiegelkogl and Tirol will be completely renovated and redesigned with great attention to detail. Thanks to the thermal renovation (complete insulation and replacement of all windows and doors) we save the environment 112 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
2016 Renovation rooms
This year, the rooms and suites of the categories Seenplatte, Gurgl, Madeleine and Romantik will also be completely renovated.
2023 New ski cellar
In addition to lockable and heated depots, the new ski cellar has an open fireplace, a tiled stove and a "Power Corner" with small snacks to take home.
